Aliens: Colonial Marines

Internationally acclaimed concept designer and visual futurist Syd Mead will sign limited prints of his concept art of the USS Sulaco, featured in the movie ALIENS and in the upcoming SEGA video game Aliens: Colonial Marines, tomorrow from 3pm to 6pm.
Dark Horse and SEGA of America are also inviting fans to stop by the SEGA Pop-Up Arcade in downtown San Diego or Booth #2615 on the expo floor to pick up a copy of an exclusive free Aliens: Colonial Marines comic that is only available during San Diego Comic-Con 2012. The original 12ft alien queen special effects prop used in the iconic 1986 film ALIENS will be on display too.
Aliens: Colonial Marines goes on sale for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in February 2013. A version for the new Nintendo Wii U games console is also in the works.

Halo 4

Halo’s anti-hero Master Chief is back in full force at San Diego Comic-Con. Microsoft have revealed the newest Xbox 360 Limited Edition Halo bundle – featuring a custom designed console, two joypads, 320Gb hard drive, exclusive downloadable content (DLC) and, of course, a copy of the Halo 4 game itself. It’s just a shame that this package still comes with a wired headset instead of the sexier Wi-Fi option.
Costing £269.99, the Halo 4 console bundle goes on sale in the UK on November 6th. Thus nicely avoiding an irritating clash with Guy Fawkes Night and all those lovely real life fireworks and big bangs.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

This highly anticipated Peter Jackson film, based on the classic J.R.R. Tolkien book, is slated for worldwide release in December 2012. Cast members Andy Serkis, Martin Freeman (Bilbo Baggins) and Richard Armitage (Thorin Oakenshield) will be signing autographs at the Warner Bros. Booth #4545 on Saturday from 11:15am to noon.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is the first major motion picture to be made using a high frame rate filmmaking technology running at 48 frames per second (fps), doubling the typical movie frame rate of 24 fps. It will be very interesting to see how this new innovation will improve the picture quality in both 3D and 2D.

Not really a big fan of the hobbit or films of that ilk
I so, so hope that ‘Colonial Marines’ is worth the wait – I’ve been waiting for that one since they first announced it was in development for the PS2 eleven years ago! I could have travelled to LV-426 myself and taken the Aliens on in person in the time it’s taken to make this game!
My brother goes to these coventions, There is a big anime one every year, its amazing how big these events are and the people that go really go crazy with the fancy dress, Some of the outfits are awesome
I’ve always dreamed of going to Comic-Con, I hope one day it’ll become a reality!
Really excited about The Hobbit, the trailer looks amazing & it has such a fantastic cast.
You’ve gotta love the amount of work that goes into this artwork (and the stories of course). It’s really so impressive that people can put together full art books to showcase their stuff. Thoroughly looking forward to The Hobbit film as well, think this is going to be one of those films you’ve gotta catch at the IMAX 3D!
