Attention Harry Potter fans! And yes, my inquisitive muggles, questions to this pair of design wizards are welcomed…

Harry Potter book design

Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima met in 2002 when they worked together as graphic designers on the Harry Potter film franchise. Miraphora originally studied Theatre and Film Design at Central Saint Martins and The National Film School, while Eduardo worked in the Brazilian film industry for several years before moving to London.

MinaLima Design created props, posters, maps, books, packaging, art prints, toys, merchandise and lots of other cool stuff for the Harry Potter movies.

“Miraphora and Eduardo spent 10 years creating all the graphic props for the Harry Potter films,” say St. Bride Foundation on their website. “As creators of iconic pieces such as the Marauder’s Map, the Daily Prophet and much miscellaneous ephemera, they have a superb and passionate understanding of the films. They will discuss their involvement in the film productions, and the role of the graphic prop designer. Questions welcome!”

MinaLima Design’s clients include Warner Bros., Universal Studios Orlando, Hasbro, Harper Collins and Chronicle Books.

  1. Wow 10 years of work, love the way each film was branded so differently but still coherent with the Harry Potter look and feel.
